I’m going to have to start removing user images that have been uploaded to the Fable 2 Gallery. I’ll explain why: yesterday it took me about 3 minutes to download a full backup of the contents of Mass Effect X; about 10 minutes for Assassin’s Creed X; an hour for Devil May Cry; and it took about two-three hours to backup the contents of ProjectEgo.net – at least, that’s how long it took before I had to cancel.

The reason it takes so long to backup the contents of ProjectEgo.net is because it is overly bloated with huge, uncompressed images in the gallery. And it’s basically effecting performance all over the server. As a rough estimate, I’d say that there’s somewhere in the region of 600MB worth of images in the gallery.

Important: In approximately one week from now, I will be cleaning out ALL images from the gallery which do not belong to Gold Supporters. This includes cleaning out image galleries which belong to the staff, too. This includes me. However, if you’ve got a Gold Supporter badge under your name then there’s nothing to fret about.

I’d just thought I’d give everyone a heads-up. A week should be enough time for everyone to head to their sextion of the gallery and backup all the images you want to save.
